When your ProPet plan ends
ProPet offers monthly, annual and two year plans. On a monthly plan you can cancel at any time, and you keep access to the end of your billing cycle. On an annual or two year plan, cancelling takes effect at the end of the term, and the agreement says you pay for the whole contracted period.
To cancel, change your subscription in Your Account, then email support@propetware.com to tell them, as ProPet's knowledge base asks. ProPet gives no refunds or credits for cancelled plans.
ProPet Software Inc. is based in Ottawa, Canada. Its agreement bills in US dollars and is governed by the laws of Ontario.
What happens to your customers' saved cards
ProPet says it does not store card numbers. You connect your own Stripe or Square account, and owners can save cards to their ProPet account. Card payments sit in that Stripe or Square account, which keeps its own history.
ProPet's pages do not say whether saved cards can be used by another system, so plan for owners adding their card again wherever you move.
What happens to your data after you leave ProPet
ProPet's FAQ answers "Who owns my data?" with "You do. Always." Its agreement gives ProPet a licence to use your data for the term and 30 days after it.
No page gives a date when a cancelled account is deleted, so take your exports before your last day.

Bring your ProPet customers into Genera
We built Genera to look after Duncan's Dog Co, our licensed daycare in Surrey. When a daycare or kennel comes to us from ProPet, this is how the move works.
- 1You upload your ProPet export yourself.Inside your Genera account, you bring in owners and their pets from a CSV file, with names, contact details, address, breed, date of birth, microchip and notes. ProPet exports to Excel, so save each file as a CSV first. You can download a template that shows the columns, so nobody has to type every dog in again.
- 2Nobody gets an email until you are ready.Owners go in without a portal invite. When you want them on board, one button invites everyone who hasn't got access yet.
- 3You keep ProPet going for a month.Take the same bookings in both. On an annual ProPet plan, start the trial in your last month. The 30 day free trial has every feature switched on, with no card to start.
- 4Bookings start in Genera.Owners and pets come across, and bookings don't, so each owner books their regular days in Genera once they have their invite.
- 5Payments go to you.Owners pay by card or Direct Debit through your own Stripe or GoCardless account, whichever you switch on, or by bank transfer. Direct Debits don't move across from another system. If you switch Direct Debit on, owners set it up before they can make their first booking, so there are no reminders to chase.
Plans are £50, £75 or £99 a month, with no setup fee and no contract.
