How to export your customer data from Collar
Short answer
You can export your clients and their pets from Collar as one CSV file from the Pets page. Bookings, invoices, payments and memberships each have their own download, so take all of them before your last day. There is no cancel button. You email Collar, and its terms ask for written notice 3 months before your term ends.

Good to know
Notice and cancelling
Clause 13 of Collar's provider terms asks for written notice at least 3 months before the end of your term or renewal period. Collar's help article says that if you ask to cancel straight away, Support usually ends your access the day before your next billing date.
The two pages do not say how they fit together, so ask Collar in writing which date applies to you. Collar's terms say fees are non refundable.
What happens to cards and memberships
Card payments in Collar go through Stripe Connect, set up with the Collar team, and the money lands in your connected Stripe account. Card details are held by Stripe, not by Collar.
Collar's help centre says client memberships and customer payments don't always stop by themselves when your Collar subscription ends. Cancel each membership yourself before your last day. Collar's pages do not say whether your owners' saved cards can be used by another system, so plan for owners adding their card again.
What happens to your data after you leave
Collar's help says to download everything you need before your last day. Its provider terms say that after the agreement ends Collar may destroy your data, and they give no number of days.
The terms also say you pay all reasonable expenses if Collar has to return your data after the agreement ends. Treat the day you leave as the last day you can export.

Bring your Collar customers into Genera
We built Genera to look after Duncan's Dog Co, our licensed daycare in Surrey. When a daycare comes to us from Collar, this is how the move works.
- 1You upload your Collar export yourself.Inside your Genera account, you bring in owners and their pets from a CSV file, with names, contact details, address, breed, date of birth, microchip and notes. You can download a template that shows the columns, so nobody has to type every dog in again.
- 2Nobody gets an email until you are ready.Owners go in without a portal invite. When you want them on board, one button invites everyone who hasn't got access yet.
- 3You keep Collar going for a month.Take the same bookings in both, and give Collar notice once you are happy. The 30 day free trial has every feature switched on, with no card to start.
- 4Bookings start in Genera.Owners and pets come across, and bookings don't, so each owner books their regular days in Genera once they have their invite.
- 5Payments go to you.Owners pay by card or Direct Debit through your own Stripe or GoCardless account, whichever you switch on, or by bank transfer. Direct Debits don't move across from another system. If you switch Direct Debit on, owners set it up before they can make their first booking, so there are no reminders to chase.
Plans are £50, £75 or £99 a month, with no setup fee and no contract.
