Good to know

Notice and refunds

KennelBooker's pricing page says no contracts. Its terms ask for at least 24 hours' notice before your next payment date on a monthly plan, and changes to subscriptions in writing to sarah@kennelbooker.com at least 2 days before your next billing date.

Email at least two days before your billing date to be safe, and keep the reply. KennelBooker does not offer refunds. On an annual plan, the terms allow a refund if you tell KennelBooker within 3 working days of the plan rolling over.

What happens to cards and subscriptions

KennelBooker connects to your own Stripe account with Connect with Stripe, and payments go straight into it. Card numbers are handled by Stripe. When you add a recurring subscription in KennelBooker, it is sent to your linked Stripe account, and Stripe charges the card on file when each payment is due.

KennelBooker's pages do not say whether those subscriptions keep charging after you leave. Check every active subscription before you cancel and decide which to stop.

What happens to your data after you leave

KennelBooker's terms say the data is your exclusive property, and its GDPR page says you remain the data controller. Its pages give no number of days before a closed account is deleted.

Its comparison page says you can export after you have left, but no page explains how, so get your exports while your account is open.

We move you over

Bring your KennelBooker customers into Genera

We built Genera to look after Duncan's Dog Co, our licensed daycare in Surrey. When a daycare or kennel comes to us from KennelBooker, this is how the move works.

  1. 1You upload your KennelBooker export yourself.Inside your Genera account, you bring in owners and their pets from a CSV file, with names, contact details, address, breed, date of birth, microchip and notes. You can download a template that shows the columns, so nobody has to type every dog in again.
  2. 2Nobody gets an email until you are ready.Owners go in without a portal invite. When you want them on board, one button invites everyone who hasn't got access yet.
  3. 3You keep KennelBooker going for a month. It is monthly, so take the same bookings in both and give notice once you are happy. The 30 day free trial has every feature switched on, with no card to start.
  4. 4Bookings start in Genera.Owners and pets come across, and bookings don't, so each owner books their regular days in Genera once they have their invite.
  5. 5Payments go to you.Owners pay by card or Direct Debit through your own Stripe or GoCardless account, whichever you switch on, or by bank transfer. Direct Debits don't move across from another system. If you switch Direct Debit on, owners set it up before they can make their first booking, so there are no reminders to chase.

Plans are £50, £75 or £99 a month, with no setup fee and no contract.
