Pet Sitter Plus is a London company that has served pet sitters, dog walkers and daycares since 2009. If you work on your own it costs less, at £30 a month against Genera's £50. Genera takes payments by Direct Debit as well as card, syncs with Xero, and adds owner messaging on its Thrive plan at £99. Pet Sitter Plus takes card and PayPal, and it does more than Genera on quotes, staff pay and key tracking.

Who each one is for
Pet Sitter Plus serves pet sitters, dog walkers, daycares and home boarders, and it is run by Pet Software Limited in London. We built Genera running Duncan's Dog Co, our licensed daycare in Surrey, and it now runs daycares, dog walkers and boarders.
What it costs
Pet Sitter Plus charges £30 a month if you work on your own. Its plan card for a team shows £24 a month plus £13 for each active member of staff, and its terms say its prices include VAT. The pricing page opens on affiliate rates, so switch it to Standard to see these figures.
Genera has three plans at £50, £75 and £99 a month, and the £99 plan covers unlimited logins. None of them charges per dog or per booking.
Card payments cost more on Pet Sitter Plus. It adds a 0.4% platform fee on top of Stripe's fee, which makes 1.9% plus 20p on a UK card. Genera takes no transaction fees, no percentage from your invoices and no fee per booking, so you pay Stripe's fee and nothing on top.
How owners pay you
Pet Sitter Plus takes card payments through Stripe, or payments through PayPal. A bank transfer is recorded by hand. Genera takes card payments through Stripe and Direct Debit through GoCardless, both into your own accounts, and you choose which ones to switch on. Owners on regular bookings can pay by Direct Debit, and the money goes straight to your bank.
Talking to owners
Pet Sitter Plus lists Client Chat as a beta that is still in development, and its help centre had no guide to it on 28 September 2026. On Genera's Thrive plan, owners message you from their portal and your whole team answers from one inbox, with every reply signed by whoever sent it. A broadcast reaches every owner by push notification, with an email for anyone who has not opened it.
The owner's app
Neither one is in the App Store or Google Play. Both open from a shortcut the owner saves to their home screen. Genera's shows your logo and your colours, so owners see your business rather than ours.
Where Pet Sitter Plus does more
This is a fair comparison, so here is what Pet Sitter Plus does that Genera does not.
It sends quotes, and it produces an account summary that works as a statement.
It pays staff by service, by shift or by the hour.
It flags a visit that started late, never checked in or ran short, using the walker's phone location.
It tracks keys and lockboxes on each client.
It sets permissions person by person.
It connects to QuickBooks Online, and owners can tip through Stripe.
If your business is home visits and walks with a team out on foot, several of those will matter to you.
