There are more booking apps for dog walkers than for any other dog business, and they price themselves in very different ways. So we took eleven of them and priced each one for the same walking business: you and one other walker. Every figure comes from the company's own website, read on 25 October 2026.

For a walker and one helper, most UK apps cost between £20 and £50 a month, and two are free to start. The bigger differences are what each one takes from your payments, and whether it can grow with you if you add collections, daycare days or sleepovers.
What a walking business pays a month

What each one takes from your payments
When an owner pays by card, the card company takes its fee whichever app you use. Some apps take their own fee as well, either on top or as one combined charge.

Genera takes nothing from your payments. Owners pay into your own Stripe or GoCardless account, and the only fee is the card company's.
The walking apps
Leadr, free
Leadr is a UK app for dog walkers and it is free. It holds your services, prices, clients, pets and bookings, and records the payments you take yourself. Online payments and client self-service are listed as coming soon.
NarpsUK, £20 a month
NarpsUK has supported pet sitters and dog walkers since 2004, and its software costs £20 a month with nothing extra for more users. It comes free with its Bronze and Gold memberships, and there is a 14 day free trial.
PackPlan, £24.99 a month for a team
PackPlan is built by a dog walker, for dog walkers. Its driver mode shows your collection route with the next stop and access notes, and its walk mode gives you a live timer and a headcount. On your own it is £14.99 a month.
Pet Sitter Dashboard, £25 a month
Pet Sitter Dashboard is free for up to ten customers and one team member. Premium adds unlimited customers, up to five team members and online payments, and it keeps track of client keys and lockbox codes.
Barclo, £29 a month
Barclo charges one price however many walkers you take on. It sets how many dogs fit each walk slot, takes off a discount for more than one dog, and sends owners report cards with photos.
PawLoop, £30 a month
PawLoop is free for up to ten clients, £18 a month on your own, and £25 a month for a team plus £5 for each extra walker. Paid plans add a private client portal and a photo store. It adds 0.1% to Stripe's card fee.
My Pet Walker, £39.99 a month
My Pet Walker has been around since 2018 and says it has handled more than three million bookings. It plans group walk pick up routes, holds a limit for each group, and has owner chat. On your own it is £19.99 a month.
Collar, £49 a month
Collar covers walking alongside daycare, boarding, grooming and training. Owners can chat with you in its app on every plan, and routing comes with its £199 plan.
Pet Sitter Plus, £50 a month
Pet Sitter Plus has served sitters and walkers since 2009. It records GPS check in and out on every visit, keeps track of keys and works out staff pay and tips. On your own it is £30 a month.
Time To Pet, $40 a month plus $16 a person
Time To Pet is run from Texas and built for walkers and sitters. Owners can see the GPS on each visit and get a report with photos straight after it. The bill is in dollars.
And Genera, from £50 a month

We have been shaping Genera in our own business, Duncan's Dog Co, since 2011. Most dog businesses do more than one thing. A walker starts a puppy class, takes a few dogs for the day or keeps one overnight. Genera puts all of it on one calendar and one invoice, with each service set up the way you work.
Walks your way. Set AM and PM walks or any times you like, each for one dog or a group, with a limit on how many dogs go out. Solo and group walks each get their own price.
Owners book themselves. In your own app, with your logo and colours, owners add a walk, an extra or a second dog, or tell you they are not coming, without a single message. Regulars keep their weekly walks without being rebooked.
Everything you need at the door. On the £99 plan, each stop in the walker app shows the address with directions, the key type and alarm code, care flags such as flight risk, and the vet's number. Walkers leave notes for each other, stamped with who wrote them and when.
Collections in the best order. Genera puts your stops in order from wherever you start, you can follow each walker live, and owners get a message in your own words when their dog is collected and when it is home.
Photos owners keep. Photos taken on a walk go straight into the dog's gallery in the owner's app, and the £75 plan adds report cards.
Prices that fit walking. Charge per walk or sell a monthly package, give a second dog its own price, add weekend and bank holiday rates, and set a late cancellation fee with your own cut off time.
No fees on payments. Owners pay by card or Direct Debit straight into your own Stripe or GoCardless account, and it syncs with Xero or QuickBooks.
Pricing. £50 for you and one other person, £75 for up to five of you with report cards, and £99 with no limit, adding routes, the walker app and owner messaging.
Help to get started. You get a WhatsApp group with us, we help bring your owners across, and the 30 day trial has every feature switched on.
Genera also caters for every extra service you offer alongside your walks. Each one is set up as its own service, with its own price, times and places, and owners book it in the same app.
Home visits and pet sitting. Puppy visits, call ins and sitting are booked like a walk, at the times you offer them.
Training and classes. Run a course on set dates, with a limit on places and the trainer who takes it.
Daycare. Set each day's limit to your licensed number, and regulars keep their weekly days without being rebooked.
Sleepovers and boarding. Nights have their own prices and their own limit, on the same calendar as your walks.
Grooming. Give each groom its own set times and decide which bookings you approve first.

So which one?
Pick the app that fits how you work, then compare the prices. If owners pay you online, compare what each app takes from those payments as well as the monthly price. And if you collect dogs, take some for the day or have them to stay, choose an app that runs all of it, so you never have to move your owners twice. That is what we built Genera to do.
Prices change, so check each company's own pricing page before you decide. We have also compared twelve daycare systems, fifteen kennel systems and fifteen grooming apps.
Questions people ask
What is the best dog walking app in the UK?
It depends on how you work. For a walker and one helper, most UK apps cost between £20 and £50 a month, and some have free plans for a handful of clients. Compare what each takes from your payments and whether it can grow with you into collections, daycare days or sleepovers. Genera is £50 a month, takes nothing from your payments and puts walks and every other service on one calendar.
Which dog walking apps take a fee from payments?
Genera takes nothing, and Barclo lists no fee. PawLoop adds 0.1% and Pet Sitter Plus adds 0.4% on top of the card fee, while My Pet Walker and Collar charge their own combined fee.
Can a walking app handle home visits, daycare or sleepovers too?
Some can. Collar, Barclo and Genera cover more than walks. In Genera, home visits, pet sitting, daycare, sleepovers, grooming and classes are each set up as their own service on the same calendar.
