Groomers have a long list of booking apps to choose from, and they price themselves in very different ways: per groomer, per calendar, per week or from your payments. So we took fifteen of them and priced each one for the same salon: you and one other groomer. Every figure comes from the company's own website, read on 25 October 2026.

For a salon with two groomers, most UK grooming apps cost between £20 and £50 a month, and one charges nothing until you take a payment. The bigger differences are what each one takes from your payments, and whether it can take daycare days or stays alongside your grooms.
What a grooming salon pays a month

What each one takes from your payments
When an owner pays by card, the card company takes its fee whichever app you use. Some apps take their own fee as well, either on top or as one combined charge. Deposits and no show fees go through the same payments, so this matters more for groomers than most.

Genera takes nothing from your payments. Owners pay into your own Stripe or GoCardless account, and the only fee is the card company's.
The UK grooming apps
Pata, free
Pata charges no monthly fee and earns from payments instead: 2.99% plus 45p online and 1.75% plus 45p on its card reader, before VAT. It takes deposits, stores cards for no show fees and lists your salon on its marketplace.
Fresha, £19.90 a month plus VAT
Fresha is a booking app for salons of every kind, with its own page for pet groomers. Its team plan is £9.95 for each person who takes bookings, and it handles card payments itself. New clients who find you through its marketplace carry a one off 20% commission.
GroomSlot, £24 a month
GroomSlot is built in Brighton for UK groomers and has one plan for up to three groomers. Payments go through your own Stripe, Square, SumUp or Lopay account with no markup, and it has deposits, no show charges and rebooking reminders. The trial is 30 days.
Pawfectly Booked, £25 a month
Pawfectly Booked is a UK app whose team plan covers up to four groomers, with VAT included. It sets prices and appointment lengths by breed or size and keeps each dog's grooming history. It records cash and card payments rather than taking them online.
Barclo, £29 a month
Barclo charges one price for the whole team. It sets appointment times by breed and coat with a buffer between dogs, keeps coat and skin notes, and sends owners before and after photos. The same £29 also covers daycare, walking and boarding.
Topline Dogs, £34.99 a month
Topline Dogs is UK salon software whose Premium plan covers two groomers. It has online booking at any hour, text and email reminders, and deposits to cover no shows.
Shake Your Tail, £35 a month
Shake Your Tail grew out of a family grooming business, and its Business plan covers five users with online booking. Each groomer has a colour coded diary, and each dog keeps its grooming notes, medical notes and history.
Savvy, £48 a month
Savvy sells to UK salons with a UK phone line, and its Extra plan adds a calendar for each groomer, online booking and a staff rota. It keeps grooming notes and reminds you about overdue grooms. Plans have a three month minimum.
Tuft, £49 a month plus VAT
Tuft is a UK app whose Pro Multi plan adds unlimited team members and lets clients choose their groomer. It keeps coat type and grooming notes, sets prices by breed and rebooks at six, eight or twelve weeks. There is also a free plan for one calendar.
Collar, £49 a month
Collar covers grooming alongside daycare, boarding, training and walking. It keeps coat, style and handling notes, rebooks based on each dog's needs and sends photos and videos to owners through its chat.

The North American apps
Revelation Pets, £50 a month
Revelation Pets is part of the Gingr family and prices in pounds. It has a calendar for each groomer, charges extra for matted coats and add ons, and takes one off and repeat grooms online. Its Gold plan is £62 a month.
BusyPaws, £35 a month
BusyPaws shows the same price in pounds and dollars, and its £35 Groomed plan covers one type of service for up to five staff. Each groomer has a schedule clients can book into, and prices change with the dog's size. Its card rates are set in dollars.
MoeGo, $79 a month
MoeGo is built for groomers first, and its salon plan covers two team members for $79 a month. It prices by breed, size, weight and coat, and keeps photos, medical notes and each dog's groom history.
Gingr, $109 a month
Gingr is run from Atlanta and built for larger buildings. Its Spa plan for grooming is $109 a month, with a calendar for every groomer and before and after photos texted to owners.
And Genera, from £50 a month

We have been shaping Genera in our own business, Duncan's Dog Co, since 2011. Most dog businesses do more than one thing. A groomer adds a day of daycare, keeps a regular overnight or starts a puppy class. Genera puts all of it on one calendar and one invoice, with each service set up the way you work.
Sizes and prices. Sell one groom in up to twelve sizes, each with its own price and length, so a Full Groom can be small, medium and large.
Each groomer's diary. Book with a named groomer, and the times offered are the ones that groomer actually has free. Owners can choose their groomer or leave it as no preference.
Set times. If you groom at fixed times, give each groom its own set times and decide which bookings you approve first.
Your own app. Owners book, pay and keep their dog's details up to date in an app with your logo and colours.
Photos owners keep. Photos go straight into the dog's gallery in the owner's app, and the £75 plan adds report cards.
Late cancellations. Set a late cancellation fee with your own cut off time.
No fees on payments. Owners pay by card or Direct Debit into your own Stripe or GoCardless account, and it syncs with Xero or QuickBooks.
Pricing. £50 for you and one other person, £75 for up to five of you with report cards, and £99 with no limit, adding routes, the driver app and owner messaging.
Help to get started. You get a WhatsApp group with us, we help bring your owners across, and the 30 day trial has every feature switched on.
Genera also caters for every other service you offer alongside your grooms. Each one is set up as its own service, with its own price, times and places, and owners book it in the same app.
Daycare. Set each day's limit to your licensed number, and regulars keep their weekly days without being rebooked.
Sleepovers and boarding. Nights have their own prices and their own limit, on the same calendar as your grooms.
Walks and collections. Walks are booked like any other service, and the £99 plan adds routes and a driver app.
Training and classes. Run a course on set dates, with a limit on places and the trainer who takes it.

So which one?
Pick the app that fits how your salon works, then compare the prices. If owners pay deposits or no show fees by card, compare what each app takes from those payments as well as the monthly price. And if you also take day dogs, sleepovers or walks, choose an app that handles all of it, so you never have to move your owners twice. That is what we built Genera to do.
Prices change, so check each company's own pricing page before you decide. We have also compared twelve daycare systems, eleven walking apps and fifteen kennel systems.
Questions people ask
What is the best dog grooming software in the UK?
It depends on how your salon works. For two groomers, most UK grooming apps cost between £20 and £50 a month, and Pata charges nothing until you take a payment. Compare what each takes from deposits and no show fees as well as the monthly price, and whether it can take day dogs or stays if you offer them.
Which grooming apps take no fee from payments?
Genera takes nothing, GroomSlot adds no markup to your own card provider, and Barclo lists no fee. Tuft takes no commission, and its online payments through Ryft are 2.5% plus 5p, including the card fee.
Can I price grooms by size?
Most can. Pawfectly Booked, MoeGo and BusyPaws price by size, Tuft by breed, and Genera sells one groom in up to twelve sizes, each with its own price and length.
Can a grooming app take daycare or boarding too?
Barclo, Collar, Revelation Pets and Genera cover more than grooming. In Genera, grooms, daycare days and sleepovers sit on one calendar and one invoice.
